Sailmon welcomes new employe Peter Tans

Sailmon is more than happy to announce that Peter Tans is the new technical support manager of Sailmon. With the appointment of Tans, Sailmon has a third renowned name from the international sailing competition alongside Kalle Coster and Richard Kent. Tans carefully built up his technical expertise through decades of racing experience. ”I’m really happy to be part of this fast-growing company. I’m looking forward to contributing to the success of Sailmon with my expertise and experience,” says Tans.

Peter Tans have earned his spurs early in the sailing world. ‘’I started sailing probably when I was two years old. Since then I’ve done three Whitbreads, many Fastnets and transatlantic races. Mostly off-shore racing,” says Tans. ”During the Whitbread races, I was responsible for the installation and maintenance of all electronics and computers on board for the Italian Brooksfield and the Brunel respectively. ”

After the Whitbread races, Tans started his own company Tanscom. Several international sailing teams hired Tans for major races on a frequent basis. Tans was active during three editions of America’s Cup: Swiss Fast2000 (1999), Swedish Victory Challenge Team (2003) and American BMW Oracle Racing (2007). Subsequently, Tans conducted a large number of major sailboat refits. Recently he was Race Officer at the Volvo Ocean Race 2017-2018.

Decades of experience as a sailor and a technical engineer helps Tans to fulfill his new role at Sailmon. ”We interface with a lot of different instruments systems. Most of them I already know, because I worked with them. For me it is really straightforward how to set-up, ” says Peter. ”This allows me to quickly solve any problems of customers. Especially questions about racing boats are known to me.’’ In addition, Tans says to be happy to be part of Sailmon. “We do a lot of development in new ways, more than other standard instruments in the market. I’m really happy to be part of this fast-growing company and contribute to the success of Sailmon,’’ concludes Tans.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
